Gary Clark, nature columnist for the Houston Chronicle, will speak on "Reconnecting People with Nature" at our quarterly meeting set for 10 a.m., Monday, February 20, in the community center. He will be accompanied by his wife, Kathy Adams Clark, a noted nature photographer who provides photos for the columns and assorted books.
The couple will have three books for sale and signing at the meeting: Texas Wildlife Portfolio ($20); Enjoying Big Bend National Park ($15) and Backroads of the Texas Hill Country ($20). Please bring exact amount or a check made out to KAC Productions for book purchases.
Also at the meeting, winner of our club's Golden Eagle award will be announced. Nominations are now being sought for this award, which offers $50 and a framed certificate to the winner. Deadline for nominations is February 8 and they should be sent to eagle@wimbirds.org or to Golden Eagle, 750 Cypress Creek Lane, Wimberley, TX 78676. Tell what the candidate has done to deserve the award and provide a phone number so he/she can be contacted if a winner.
